HGU Series — The Complete Backup Battery Lineup From 2 V Cells to Lithium Cabinets

Seven VRLA and lithium families, 79 backup battery models, 2 V to 512 V — one catalogue from a single manufacturer

This is the master index of the HGU battery platform: every chemistry, every form factor, every voltage class we ship. If you are sizing a new backup plant or rationalising an existing spare-parts list, the HGU lineup gives you one part number for the small 12 V alarm cell and one part number for the megawatt-hour lithium cabinet — and every model in between is designed to be replaced or upgraded without changing your racking, cabling or float-voltage recipe.

What is the HGU series?

The HGU series is the export brand of HG upsboss (Shenzhen Shengpuwei Industrial Co., Ltd.) for stationary backup batteries. It covers sealed lead-acid in three chemistries — AGM, GEL and lead-carbon — plus a LiFePO4 cabinet system for data-centre DC plants. Every model uses the same VRLA separator technology, the same case and terminal families, and the same CE / UL / IEC documentation kit. The result is a single platform you can deploy across telecom central offices, IT rooms, edge nodes, solar hybrid sites and industrial control cabinets, with one common float-voltage profile and one common procurement workflow.

  • 79 models across 7 sub-families

  • Three lead-acid chemistries (AGM, GEL, lead-carbon) plus LiFePO4

  • Voltage range: 2 V cells, 12 V monoblocs, 51.2 V lithium modules, 192–512 V DC lithium cabinets

  • Capacity range: 4.5 Ah to 3000 Ah (lead-acid), 51.2 kWh to 102.4 kWh per cabinet (lithium)

  • Float design life 8–15 years depending on family

  • One terminal hardware tree, one connector family, one documentation pack

Where HGU batteries fit

The HGU lineup is engineered for sites where DC backup is a regulated utility, not an afterthought:

  • Telecom central offices, base stations and FTTx nodes

How to pick the right HGU family

  • Standby float duty (rare discharge): HGU 2 V cells, HGU-12V monobloc, HGUX high-power

  • Daily cycling (solar, microgrid, hybrid): HGUG tubular GEL, HGUC lead-carbon

  • Front-cabinet access (19-inch rack): HGUF front-terminal

  • High-rate discharge (15-minute UPS): HGUX

  • Long-life with low maintenance: HGUG tubular GEL

  • Partial state-of-charge operation: HGUC lead-carbon

  • Lithium-ion retrofit for data-centre DC bus: HGUHVC

Operating conditions common to all HGU families

  • Float voltage: 2.23–2.27 V/cell at 25 °C, compensated -3 mV/°C/cell

  • Equalise / cycle charge: 2.30–2.40 V/cell for up to 24 h

  • Operating temperature: -20 °C to +45 °C (recommended 20–25 °C)

Quality, manufacturing and traceability

Every HGU cell leaves the Shenzhen factory with a laser-etched date code, a traceable batch number and a printed capacity-test summary. Plates are formed in-house; AGM separators, GEL electrolyte and carbon-enhanced negative paste are mixed to proprietary recipes. Incoming raw materials are vendor-qualified; finished cells are 100 % capacity-tested before packing. The same factory builds the OEM packs for several Chinese and European UPS brands, so the production line is volume-proven rather than pilot-scale.

Logistics, packaging and export support

HGU cells are UN2800 classified, packed in heat-treated wooden cases on ISPM-15 pallets, and shipped from Shenzhen Yantian or Shekou under FOB, CIF or DAP terms. Typical lead time is 15–25 days for stock models and 30–40 days for special builds. We prepare the commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and the FORM-A / FORM-E / FORM-FTA preferential certificates you need for your destination market.

Frequently asked questions

1. Can I mix HGU families in the same battery room?

Yes — every HGU sub-family uses the same 2 V cell float-voltage window (2.23–2.27 V/cell at 25 °C), so a 2 V cell string from the HGU Series can share a DC bus with a 12 V monobloc from HGU-12V or a lithium cabinet from HGUHVC provided the overall DC-bus voltage is matched. Most operators standardise on one chemistry per string but use HGU across multiple strings.

2. Which HGU family gives the longest float life?

For standby float duty, the 2 V cells in the HGU Series are rated up to 15 years at 25 °C. HGUG tubular GEL reaches the same envelope with the added benefit of deeper cycling when needed. HGUX high-power monoblocs deliver 12 years at 25 °C; HGUF front-terminal and HGU-12V monoblocs are rated 8–12 years.

3. Which HGU family should I pick for solar hybrid?

For daily cycling with frequent partial state-of-charge operation, use HGUG tubular GEL (1500 cycles at 50 % DoD) or HGUC lead-carbon (over 4000 cycles at 50 % PSoC). For pure peak-shaving or short-burst solar smoothing, the HGU Series 2 V cells are also a proven choice at much lower unit cost.

4. Can HGU batteries be air-freighted?

Sealed VRLA cells are classified UN2800 non-spillable and are eligible for IATA air transport on most routes, subject to airline and destination-state approval. We provide the MSDS, the UN2800 test summary and the air-waybill description text you need.

5. Do you ship pre-charged or dry-charged?

All HGU cells ship factory-charged and ready to install. Dry-charged shipment is available on request for long-sea-voyage orders where shelf life before commissioning matters.

6. What is the warranty?

Standard warranty is three years from date of shipment for lead-acid families (HGU, HGU-12V, HGUX, HGUF, HGUG, HGUC) and five years for the HGUHVC lithium cabinet, conditional on storage, commissioning and float-voltage records being kept.

7. Can I get custom branding on the cells?

Yes — OEM branding (your logo, your part number, custom label) is available from a one-pallet minimum order for any HGU family. Lead time adds 10–15 days.

8. Where is HG upsboss based and how do I contact you?

HG upsboss is the export brand of Shenzhen Shengpuwei Industrial Co., Ltd., registered in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. Sales, technical support and after-sales service are handled from the same campus, with regional agents in the Middle East, Africa and South America.
