
Sizing a large PV Generator - 100kVA up to 600kVA - follows the same five inputs as a 10kVA unit: load profile, solar resource, storage autonomy, transfer/redundancy and site envelope. At scale, though, the numbers get big fast and a small mistake is expensive, so the discipline matters more, not less. This is the large-load companion to our off-grid sizing checklist.
Start from peak kW, not average. The Solar 3B3 output power factor is 0.8 on most models (some large models reach 0.9), so size the cabinet's kVA at peak kW divided by that factor. At 600kVA with a 0.8 factor you are protecting roughly 480 kW of load; at 0.9 that rises toward 540 kW. Continuous load, not peak, then sets how much PV and battery you need.
Recommended PV input scales with the cabinet: about 94.6 kW on the 80K, 240.2 kW on the 200K and 720.7 kW on the 600K. The string side is capped at 498 V maximum with a 416 V rated DC voltage, so right-size the array to the cabinet rather than oversizing the string - extra DC voltage adds cost, not output. Match the array to your local irradiance and the load you want PV to carry directly.
The LFP battery input is 409.6 VDC, charged at 0.5 C maximum and discharged at 1 C rated, with a 6000-cycle cell design life. Autonomy - how many sun-free hours the pack must cover - drives pack size, not any headline number. For a large site this is where the budget is really set, so a realistic duty cycle beats a generous guess.
The 0 ms static-switch transfer between PV, battery, mains and generator is unchanged at every size, which is why large critical loads can ride through source changes without dropping. When uptime is non-negotiable, up to six units can be paralleled for capacity or N+1 redundancy, all sharing one RS485 / RS232 / dry-contact / SNMP communication bus and viewable from each cabinet's LCD.
Large units are physically demanding. The 400K/500K/600K cabinets reach up to 3244 kg and 2580 x 1000 x 1900 mm, run below 65 dB (versus below 58 dB on smaller models), and still operate from 0 to +40 C, 0-95% non-condensing humidity and up to 1500 m without derating. Plan the foundation, the lift path and the acoustic buffer before the cabinet arrives, not after.

Q: Can I start small and add capacity later?
A: Yes. Up to six units of the same family parallel for capacity or N+1, so a site can grow from one cabinet to a bank as load increases.
Q: Do large models lose the 0 ms transfer?
A: No. The static-switch transfer time is 0 ms across the entire 10-600kVA range, including the 600K unit.
